Doug Woolverton, a native of Trenton, New Jersey, is one of the bright young lions of the trumpet world. He has been working with many bands touring all over the world, dazzling audiences with his blues based jazz styles. Depending on the tune, you can hear influences of Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Chris Botti, Louis Armstrong and others in his amazing stylistic repertoire. Doug plays cool and hot, high and low, and makes you feel good, swinging all the time!

Doug Woolverton studies with Dr. Grant Manhart, internationally acclaimed performer and professor of high-brass at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  Doug received his Bachelor of Arts in Trumpet performance from NSU in 2004.

He has performed with Roomful of Blues, They Might Be Giants, BadFish, Scotty Don’t, The Temptations, Curt Ramm, Kenni Holmen, Dan Moretti,  James Cotton, Allen Vizzutti, Peter Olstad, Jimmy Haslip, Greg Wing, Derek Gardener, Rodney Lancaster, Dominic Spera, Vincent DiMartino, Jon Faddis, Carl Saunders, Richie Cole, Greg Abate,  Ron Levy, The Dominant7, The Army Blues Rhythm Section, and was a three-time finalist at the National Trumpet Competition in the solo jazz division (2002,2003,2004).

Doug is a busy performer, clinician, and adjudicator, around the world. He is continuing his studies with Dr. Grant Manhart (a Bill Adam student) while seeking his fortune in the world of professional trumpet music. Currently he is performing with “Roomful of Blues”. When he is not on tour, he performs with New England’s very own, The Ravers, The Rudeness, Mellow Mood, The Travis Colby Band, and The MSD Quintet.
